NNF Chemistry For A Career In Science
NNF Chemistry For A Career In ScienceIf you are interested in working in the physical or biological sciences, you might be thinking about a career as a pre-medical or NNF Chemistry major. These students often spend a lot of time in laboratories and learn to apply the scientific method and various different methods of science to solve problems. These students also learn to conduct research and often become the ones writing and publishing the research findings for publication. In some cases they can even become a part of a university lab staff or contribute to their work on a day-to-day basis. It is important to know what a NNF Chemistry student will be doing before they even enroll in college. A lot of the courses they take in high school are often not applicable to the workplace. Some of the most common courses are biology, organic chemistry, and microbiology. Although there are plenty of online schools that offer a degree in NNF Chemistry, it is important to talk to counselors at the schools you are considering to see if they offer specific programs for college students.NNF Chemistry is a very good major to have if you are interested in medical research or working with pharmaceuticals. This science requires great focus and dedication and is often considered one of the hardest and most advanced science degrees in the country. The focus of this major is heavily based on research and whether or not the research is being conducted with animals, plants, or other living things. When you are looking at careers in the medical or biological sciences, a NNF Chemistry degree can help. You will be able to perform a wide variety of tasks that will allow you to perform scientific research and make informed decisions on behalf of a patient. One example of a job that will require you to have some training would be in a lab setting, specifically working in research. You will be required to have some laboratory experience and most likely spend a lot of time working with animals or other living things. Working with bacteria or other organisms can be very fun and the environment is usually exciting to work in. If you enjoy working with research and life, then you may have a career in research.Another option is to pursue a graduate program in this field. Many students who are entering graduate school for the first time are interested in pursuing a degree in this field. It is important to check out your school and see if they offer a program that will enable you to continue in the field after graduation.Since so many people have been learning about how the physical sciences affect the lives of humans, it is easy to see why these students are drawn to this career. You might find yourself working with labs in areas such as cancer or infectious diseases or working with energy and environmental issues. These are all major concerns of the government and health organizations, but also have a direct impact on individual's lives.NNF Chemistry is an excellent major to co nsider for students in college. There are a lot of benefits and reasons to study this science in college. You may be one of the next scientists to make a difference in the world and you may even find yourself working in a lab in the future.

Converting mixed numbers and improper fractions
Converting mixed numbers and improper fractions Fraction are very commonly used and very important form of representation of numbers. Fraction is usually written in the p/q form. Here p is the numerator and q is the denominator. The denominator of a fraction cannot be equal to zero i.e. q not equal to zero. Fraction where the numerator is lesser than the denominator p q is called as a proper fraction. A fraction where the numerator is greater than the denominator is called as improper fraction p q. An improper fraction can be converted to a mixed fraction. A mixed fraction is the combination of a whole number and a proper fraction. Example 1: Convert the mixed number 1 to improper fraction? Solution: The number is a mixed number 1 where 1 is the whole number part and is the proper fraction as the numerator is lesser than the denominator i.e. 3 4. The mixed number can be now converted to improper fraction. Therefore, 1 = (4*1 + 3)/ 4 = (4 + 3)/4 = 7/4 This gives 7/4 which is an improper fraction as 7 4. Hence, the mixed fraction gives 1 can be expressed as 7/4. Question: Multiple choice question (Pick the correct option.) Convert the mixed number 6 into improper fraction? a) 13/2 b) 7/2 c) 11/2 d) None of these. Correct answer: option a. The mixed number 6 can be now converted to improper fraction. Therefore, 6 = (6*2 + 1)/2 = (12 + 1)/2 = 13/2. This gives 13/2 which is an improper fraction.

How To Succeed On The HSPT
How To Succeed On The HSPT The High School Placement Test (HSPT) is a standardized admissions exam used by many Catholic high schools across the United States. Eighth graders take the comprehensive entrance test for placement in the ninth grade. Even if students have received their elementary and middle school education at a Catholic institution, they are still required to take the exam if they wish to continue their learning at a Catholic high school. The Scholastic Testing Service, a company that provides assessment materials, designs and administers the annual exam. Because courses, teaching methods and styles, and evaluation standards differ from one school to another, a standardized exam such as the HSPT creates a uniform process to effectively evaluate applicants. HSPT results assist admissions committees in determining if a potential student can thrive under an often-demanding workload, and possesses the necessary academic background and core subject skills (such as in critical reading or math) to succeed. Combined with transcripts and teacher recommendations, HSPT scores present a detailed profile of a students strengths and weaknesses, and their readiness for a rigorous high school environment. Catholic schools have been using the HSPT as part of the admissions process for more than 50 years. The HSPT evaluates language, reading, and mathematics proficiency through multiple choice questions. Five categories are administered over two and a half hours. Students receive 16 minutes to answer the 60 questions in the Verbal Skills portion. The Quantitative Skills category is made up of 52 questions and lasts half an hour. The Reading section includes 62 questions and lasts 25 minutes. There are 64 questions in the 45-minute Math section. The Language portion is comprised of 60 questions over 25 minutes. Incorrect responses are not penalized, so it is best to take a guess than leave a question unanswered. The HSPT is administered annually in the late fall, usually in November or December. In order to take the test, students must register with the high school to which they are applying. Results can be sent to multiple schools. HSPT scores will fall between 200 and 800. High school admissions committees each have their own criteria for test results to be considered adequate. Educators and admissions personnel want to insure incoming students are prepared for an academically-intensive environment, and HSPT scores are one of the main ways they evaluate candidates. Thus, while HSPT results arent the only component of an application package, they are a major influence on a students acceptance status. If your child hasnt taken a standardized test before, it may be best to take several practice exams to perfect his or her test-taking skills, and review the topics in a timed setting. Almost all material on the HSPT should be somewhat familiar, since questions are derived from standard middle and elementary classroom exercises. Consider using an expert tutor who will teach your child testing strategies and problem-solving tips so theyll succeed on test day. The admissions game at private high schools can be tough. The desirability of a Catholic education, the rigorous, college-preparatory environment, and the competitive admissions process almost always insures that there are more applicants than open spots. Getting a top score on the HSPT increases your childs chances of receiving a welcome letter in the mail.

Volume of a Trapezoid Tutors
Volume of a Trapezoid Tutors A trapezoid is a 2-dimensional geometric figure which has one pair of parallel sides and one pair of non-parallel sides. We can calculate the area and the perimeter of a trapezoid but it is not possible to calculate the volume of a trapezoid because we need 3 dimensions to find the volume and a trapezoid does not have 3 dimensions. However, a trapezoidal prism consists of congruent trapezoidal bases and we can find the volume of this prism because it is a 3-dimensional structure. Example 1: Calculate the volume of a trapezoidal prism whose parallel sides of base trapezoid are 3m and 6m, height of the base is 4m andlength of the prism is 8m Given: length of the base parallel sides == a= 3m and b= 6m Height of the base trapezoid, h = 4m Length of the prism, l = 8m Volume of a trapezoidal prism, V = 1/2 *(a + b)* h * l This gives, volume, V= 1/2* 9m* 4m* 8m= 144m3 Therefore, volume of the given trapezoidal prism is 144m3 Example 2: Calculate the volume of a trapezoidal prism whose parallel sides of base trapezoid are 4m and 7m, height of the base is 5m and length of the prism is 10m. Given: length of the base parallel sides == a= 4m and b= 7m Height of the base trapezoid, h = 5m Length of the prism, l = 10m Volume of a trapezoidal prism, V = 1/2 *(a + b)* h * l This gives, volume, V= 1/2* 11m* 5m* 10m= 275m3 Therefore, volume of the given trapezoidal prism is 275m3
Solve Absolute Value Equation
Solve Absolute Value Equation Absolute value of any number whether its negative or positive represents only its positive version. Absolute value is actually the distance of the number from the center and is denoted by | |(modulus sign). Hence absolute value is never negative. Absolute value is the magnitude of the number not the sign. Absolute value equation contains the variables and numbers with the absolute value sign in it. Example 1: Solve for the variable x in the equation | x 2| = 4? Solution: Given is the equation |x 2| = 4. Here the unknown variable which needs to be solved for is x. First step: The absolute value gives two cases; x 2 = 4; x 2 = -4. Adding 2 on both sides of the given equation. (x 2) + 2 = 4 + 2; (x 2) + 2 = -4 + 2 This gives x = 6; x = -2. Hence the solution is x = 6 or -2. Example 2: Solve for the variable x in the equation | x 3| = 5? Solution: Given is the equation |x 3| = 5. Here the unknown variable which needs to be solved for is x. First step: The absolute value gives two cases; x 3 = 5; x 3 = -5. Adding 3 on both sides of the given equation. (x 3) + 3 = 5 + 3; (x 3) + 3 = -5 + 3. This gives x = 8; x = -2. Hence the solution is x = 8 or -2.
When Should You Retake a College Course
When Should You Retake a College Course Now that grades are posted for the spring semester, some students may have discovered that they didnt do quite as well in a class as they expected to when they registered. Maybe you realized several weeks into the course that the material wasnt clear, or maybe you were doing fine, but you didnt perform well on the final. Whatever the reason for your subpar grade, you may now be thinking about retaking the class next semester. Consider these questions to help you determine when you should retake a college course: Will your school factor a second grade into your GPA? Colleges have different policies regarding students who retake classes. Some schools will replace your first grade in the course with your second grade, effectively erasing your first (and hopefully lower) grade from your GPA. However, your college may average your grades instead or not offer grade replacement at all. Before you decide to retake a class, ask about your schools grade policy, and then decide if retaking the college course will truly reflect the academic improvementthat you would like it to. Is the class a requirement for a major, a career, or a graduate school, and did you achieve the minimum grade necessary to fulfill that requirement? Many majors require a grade of C or better in all related coursework, and certain graduate schools may set minimum grades for prerequisite undergraduate coursework. If you met the minimum graderequirement even if the grade wasnt your ideal grade you may not be allowed to retake the class. In this case, it may be best to move on and to search for other ways to improve your GPA or application. These threestudy tipsmay be able to help you in your future college exams. Were there unforeseen circumstances that led to your poor performance in the course, and are those circumstances resolved? Sometimes, events in your personal life like a death in your family or a major illness can prevent you from doing your best. In this instance, consider whether you have recovered enough to improve your grade if you retake the class. Many times, one low grade can be explained and forgiven in interviews or applications, and it is not worth performing poorly again if the extenuating circumstances that led to the first bad grade have not been resolved. Do you think that you are able to master the course material? If you took a course that was well beyond your academic capabilities, retaking that class may do little to improve your performance. If youre still interested in the subject but arent sure that you can handle the caliber of coursework expected, consider looking for lower-level classes within the same discipline instead of retaking the first course. (This is especially useful with electives.) Is the class offered soon after the last time you took it? Even though you may not have done very well in the course, chances are that you learned some of the material involved. Retaking the classas soon as possible will put you in the best position to succeed. If the course isnt offered again for a year or more, consider whether retaking it is worth potentially forgetting any information you may already have about the subject. If you do decide to retake the course trying a different note-taking formatmay alsohelp you succeed the second time around.
The 3 Biggest Mistakes Youre Making in Your Voice Lessons
The 3 Biggest Mistakes Youre Making in Your Voice Lessons Sign up successful Not Letting Go OK, so forget the famous Disney song for a second (even though I know its now stuck in your head). The best voice lessons happen only when youre ready and willing to be open, raw, unpolished (at times), and free. And when we voice teachers use the word free, we dont always just mean free of physical tension. We might also mean free in terms of artistic expression. As the brilliant voice teacher Julie Zarukin once told me, Music is not the song. Music is the singing. We have to let go of both our physical and mental tensions if were to make progress in our learning journeys. Being Afraid A lot of times, what were afraid of in our voice lessons is letting go (see mistake number two above). But just as often, were afraid of not hitting that high note, cracking on that big leap, having too much vibrato, and believe it or not, I think that some students are afraid of singing too loudly, or too well. In some ways, I feel like getting a voice lesson is like getting a physicians exam. You know that you need the diagnosis and treatment, but its not always easy to share so much with a person that you may not know very well yet. And yet, a voice teacher can only find your challenges and help you learn how to get better at singing if youre not afraid to allow them to be found. Making the Most of Your Singing Lessons If you really want to get better at singing and improve your skills, youll need to make the most of your time both in your lessons and during practice! Whether you want to sing cover songs, work on specific techniques, get help picking a song for an audition, or just have some fun exploring your voice, your teacher is there to help you reach your goals and keep you on track. He or she will also teach you the basics, such as: breathing exercises for singers, how your posture affects your singing, and how to care for your voice. Now, if you find yourself making the mistakes listed above in your voice lessons, then it sounds like you may be having a tough time trusting your voice teacher. Try your best to be open and talk openly about your concerns. But just like a physicians patient, a voice student has the right to get a second opinion if you feel frustrated or stuck. The best voice teachers will actually encourage you to get one. Take a break and try a new voice teacher for a couple of months. Sometimes, a new set of ears and a fresh perspective can change the way you look at voice lessons and help you make progress as you work to figure out how to get better at singing. The most important element is finding a voice teacher that you can trust (hint: start your search for a voice teacher with TakeLessons, if you dont have one yet!). To Recap: Heather L. teaches singing, piano, acting, and more in St. Augustine, FL, as well as through online lessons. The Making of a Stellar Score on the GRE
The Making of a Stellar Score on the GRE GRE/MAT Graduate School Blog I often hear people wonder whether it is possible to increase oneâs GRE score. They believe that a standardized test score is more or less set in stone, oneâs score changing plus or minus two points depending on the day. This line of thinking is actually woefully inaccurate; with a combination of diligence, resources, and the proper approach, you can greatly increase your score. Indeed, Iâve seen a couple of Magoosh students increase their scores by 29 points. Mind you, Iâm not trying to shamelessly promote our brand. Instead, I not only want do away with the thinking that oneâs GRE score is immutable, but also show you how to make significant point increases to your current score. An Important Question So what is a good GRE score? Well, it is one in which you improve dramatically. What this means differs wildly on the situation. To illustrate, imagine two students who have gone up by 12 points. One goes from a 145 in both sections to a 151 in both sections; the other goes from 164 in both sections to a perfect score. Clearly, the latter is far more impressive, since any point increase you can attain once you are over 165 is amazing. The first student, by contrast, hasnât really done too much for his competitive edge. Had that student increased by 24 points, on the other hand, then he has achieved a great score. He need not feel like he has to get in the mid-160âs to make his effort worthwhile; his scores will help him get into some decent programs. The reason I mention this hypothetical student is I donât want to give the impression that the only good score is one in the high 160âs and that everyone is capable of achieving that score. My experience has shown me that certain point increases are difficult to come by. Anything over a 30-point increase is exceedingly rare on the GRE. How Do You Get Your âGoodâ GRE Score? Diligence Youâve hard it countless times before, but itâs true: hard work is the only way to make big things happen. The GRE is no exception; youâll need to apply yourself day and night, making sacrifices in your social life or your Netflix viewing. Relaxing to your favorite music might have to be replaced by listening to GRE vocabulary podcasts. Resources There is a plethora of bad material out there. Really speaking, anyone with a blog can start writing questions or pitching strategies. Always exercise caution and stick with trusted names and questions. (For helpful book reviews: Magooshâs GRE book reviews). Approach This is, in many ways, the most important facet to improving your score; yet, it is often the subtlest. First off, donât just do practice question after practice question. Understand your mistakes, and how the test writers create question. Learning the kind of answer choices that tempt you is important as well. Try out the strategies in a few different prep books to find out which one(s) suit you best. Finally, take plenty of practice tests so you can constantly see how you are improving and, more importantly, which parts of the test you need to focus on. Takeaway By combining the three elements above, you can witness dramatic increases in your GRE score. Of course, you will need plenty of time to see this happen. But during those periods where you arenât improving, or arenât improving as much, know that it is possible.
